Modernization and ecology for Westlede crematorium
The Westlede crematorium in Lochristi recently underwent a major upgrade, with the ecological aspect taken into account in the structural changes. Deba played a crucial role in this. The crematorium already had a cabin for power supply, but it had to be modified and brought in line with the current requirements of Synergrid and Deba. The old cabin was of the open lattice type and was equipped with a transformer rated at 400 kVa. This was no longer adequate for the new installation of the electric furnaces. It was therefore decided together with grid operator Fluvius to install a new concrete prefabricated head cabin at the street. The new cabin is type BX160 built by our sister company Cabines de Ciney – CDC. In this concrete station the switchgear was placed and a transformer with a capacity of 400 kVA the which in the near future will be used for charging posts for electric cars and also a connection of solar panels. In the substation, the cabin was also built with modular switchgear type DF-2 built by sister company SGC – SwitchGear Company. This choice was made by the customer because of its high quality, reliability and durability. Two transformers were also installed, one of 400 and one of 800 kVa, to supply the new electric ovens. With this, the Westlede crematorium is taking an important step towards a greener future. Glad we can help build this! Read the full article of the VRT here.
