- RV44 with EM20 earthing switch - |
The opening and closing devices of the RV44 load-break switch and the EM20 earthing switch have been fitted in a single drive mechanism. Both switches have their own, separate operating shaft. These operating shafts are mechanically interlocked, thereby preventing any faulty operation.
The earthing switch is located underneath the load-break switch, on the right-hand wall of the cubicle. The switching is done in air (in contrast to that of the load break switch).
The earthing switch is a two-position switch that opens the knives (no earthing) or closes it (visible earthing). The position of the earthing switch is clearly indicated on the single line diagram. In addition, the positions of the earthing switch is continuously verified, thanks to the inspection windows in the door of the DF-2 cubicle.
Depending on the version, the load break switch is operated manually or electrically. See "Drive mechanism" Manual operation is done with the operating handle supplied.
