In the case of DA drive mechanisms, the mechanism switches independently from the operator. The energy necessary for its operation is built up by compressing a spring. After a deadlock has been transgressed, this spring will perform the switch.
The spring compression can be achieved by manual operation (using the operating handle), or by motor operation (using either 24 V AC/DC, 48 V AC/DC, 110 V AC/DC or 220 V AC/DC).
Any motor-operated drive mechanisms may, at any time, be operated manually as well. To achieve this, the operating handle is placed on the operating shaft of the RV44 load-break switch, after which a slight pressure is applied to the handle in order to release the connection between the operating shaft and the motor.
